Factory Design
Precious Plastics has some resources regarding a 'portable' workshop'.
These have been designed as workspace for, what i can only assume, a few people. Which means it isn't fir for our purpose.
Our programme:
An educational service which goes around schools to show an alternative and positive solution to plastic repurposing. The space will need to be able to house the educators and the students, as well as allowing for full visibility for students. Below I critiqued and stated some changes that will have to be made to be fit for our use.
Prerequisites for our moving factory:
- Portable
- Safe
- Allow for full visibility/transparency
- 'Walkway' or space dedicated to walking through
- VENTILATION and potentially some sort of storage for fumes
- Washing station
- Storage station for pre-shredded and post-shredded
- Shredder
- Compressor
- Injection machine
- Extruder
- Lighting
- Face masks for students and workers to be safe
- A platform for viewing the process outside of the container
- Workbench
- Collection station
